IF YOU ARE THE OWNER OF RECORD OF THE AVALON BOROUGH HOME BUT DO NOT LIVE IN IT, THAT HOME IS CONSIDRED A RENTAL PROPERTY AND YOU MUST REGISTER THE TENANTS OF THIS PROPERTY AS LISTED BELOW. THIS HOME IS ALSO REQUIRED TO HAVE A FIRE SAFETY INSPECTION.
TENANT/LANDLORD REGISTRATION & FIRE SAFETY INSPECTION INFORMATION
Landlords, please be aware that Ordinance 1273 and Ordinance 1356 requires
every owner, landlord, manager or agent for an owner who rents or leases a
a dwelling unit in the Borough of Avalon to any tenant for a period of time in
excess of thirty days, shall provide the following information:
A. The dwelling unit or rooming unit number or street address.
B. Names of all tenants to occupy such dwelling or rooming unit.
C. Mailing address of the dwelling or rooming unit.
D. Period of time for which the rental is made.
E. The agent, if applicable, that is responsible for the dwelling or
rooming unit in the absence of the owner of record.
A yearly fee is payable to the Borough of Avalon at the time of registration of this rental property:
1-3 units per rental property $25/unit
4-10 units per rental property $20/unit
10+ units per rental property $10/unit

Also, be aware that the rental unit should be up to date with a Fire Safety Rental Operating License.
Fire Safety Inspections are required, per Ordinance 1272 and 1357, every 4 years and upon the
any lease changes. Inspection fees are $50/unit. Please contact the Avalon Borough Administration
Office for scheduling.
