Street sweeping parking enforcement begins on April 1, 2025. Please move all vehicles in accordance with the posted parking restrictions to avoid a $25.00 ticket. Thank you for helping us keep the streets clean!
The Borough of Avalon is accepting applications for a full-time Public Works Maintenance Worker. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license; a CDL license is preferred but not required. Must be able to respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis, especially during periods of snow. Flagger certification, CPO certification, and Pesticide Application certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire. This is a union position, affiliated with General Teamsters Local 249. The Borough is also accepting applications for a part time Department of Public Works Maintenance Worker and a part time seasonal Public Works Maintenance Worker. American Pool is currently accepting applications for lifeguards and gate guards for the Avalon Community Pool Summer 2025 Season. For more information, text SWIM to 464646 or call 412-781-5950.
The Avalon Borough Police Department is currently accepting applications for Civil Service Testing. Interested applicants must pick up an application in person at the Avalon Borough Police Department, located in the rear of the Avalon Borough Administration Office, 640 California Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15202. Avalon Borough will be celebrating its 150 year anniversary in 2025! We need help from residents to make this event special. If you have historical photos, artifacts, or stories about Avalon that you would like to share, we would love to talk to you. We also encourage any resident who is interested in planning the celebratory event to attend the upcoming committee meeting!
